A simple routine for brewing at home

29 September 2026

You do not need a gooseneck kettle to make good coffee. You need fresh beans, a scale, and a routine you can repeat.

Weigh fifteen grams of coffee and grind it to the texture of coarse sand. Heat your water to just off the boil. Bloom with fifty grams of water for thirty seconds, then pour slowly in circles until you reach 250 grams. Let it drain, and stop the clock around three minutes.

Taste, adjust one variable at a time, and write it down. Two weeks of notes will teach you more than any chart.
